Smoking

Well, kind of losing track of time, but I think Im about 13 weeks post op myself! I was a bad girl too and smoked a TON prior to surgery. I knew it was wrong, but heck...I was a wreck. I too was told to not smoke 24 hrs before and I had 2 the morning of my surgery. I know I shouldn't have, but I couldn't handle the waiting around. The nurses will give you the patch if you want, and I even brought some leftover nicorrette (from trying to quit before) so that helped. Of course, I lit up right when I got home. But......I knew as soon as the surgery was over that I would indeed quit when I was up and about!!!! Well, its been 8 days for me! I have finally done it!!!!! Started excersizing, no more periods and things couldn't be better. So ladies, I know you all want to do the "Right" thing, but we all know that NOONE is perfect right? Dont beat yourselves up for smoking ok? What you are going thru right now (as the rest of us also), has got to be one of the toughest things a women can go thru. What ever helps you get thru it! If you dont quit in the hospital either...so be it! Maybe when your all healed and able to get out, get that fresh air, take nice long walks and enjoy having NO monthly problems, then maybe you can quit easier! I know thats what did it for me! Anyways, I hope some NON smokers aren't mad at my advise...... There is definately a lite at the end of this tunnel!!!! Take it one day at a time! I will say a prayer for all the LIW!!!!! Take care!
