Two steps forward, three steps back!

I had an incredibly bad two days. Yesterday the nurses neglected to give my pain meds for 2 extra hours. Extreme pain. Then this morning, my nurse came into give me my meds and decided not to bother me. Bother me please! OMG, could have died and not cared. Finally after hours and hours my pain is finally under control. It looks like I might go home tomorrow.

Re: Two steps forward, three steps back!

I hope you go home soon! When I was in the hospital I was taken care of well by the nursing staff. When I needed something they were right there. I pray while you are there you will get a better nurse.

Re: Two steps forward, three steps back!

That is terrible about the pain meds. My first night in the hospital I had to watch the clock and call the nurse every two hours for pain meds. You would think after a while she would have thought hmmm...this woman is in pain, I'll go in and check on her near the two hour mark. Nope. Not one time. It was one whale of a long night! I hope you do get to go home soon. Being in pain makes you feel SO hopeless. I did end up getting a much more compassionate nurse the next day and I appreciated her SO much after what I'd been through the previous 12 hour shift. I will be hoping your first days home go well and that your healing will be a speedy journey! Blessings,
happi

Re: Two steps forward, three steps back!

I am so sorry you had to go thru that - I had horrible reactions to my pain meds and asked to be taken off them ( vomitting vs. pain) Remember they are there to help you and demand the help! I hope you get home and have great loving care there!!!
