Early Surgery time-YEAH!

Just got off the phone with the Castle and I was so excited to find out that my surgery on Monday,July 26, TAH/BSO/TVT, is scheduled for 9:45. I was soooo concerned that it would be later as the nurse had told my at my Pre-Op that they schedule those whose insurance limits their stay first and that I would be later. There is a Hyster God! Am busy today cleaning and getting ready for a weekend out of state to attend a family wedding, a fun distraction I hope!

One last question, does alcohol, specifically wine, thin the blood? Someone told me that I should not drink wine before my surgery, just when I will need it.

The next time I post will be on my return from the Castle! I will sure miss "talking to" you guys while I'm away! Any last minute suggestions?

That's great news about your surgery being scheduled for the morning.
I don't know about the wine thinning the blood.......
I was not given any restrictions like that, but I was told it would be a good idea to drink a lot of water.

Good luck and congrats on the time!! I will send positive energy your way. My surgery is scheduled for Thursday the 29th and I'm growing more nervous as the days go by...I pray that you have a smooth recovery!!!!

Can't answer your wine question, but wanted to wish you all the best for your surgery.

I had an early castle time as well. It sure made the day go by fast. I was told water only before surgery. Why not call and ask your doc.

Best of luck on your surgery....as for the wine.....no alcohol 24 hours prior to surgery. That's what my pre-op directions said. That and aspiring containing products, and a whole host of herbal medicines.

My doctor TOLD me to have a few drinks the night before surgery. He said it would help me get a good nights sleep!
