Should I talk to My Hubby

I am loosing it right now. The closer it gets the more I am out of it. Two months ago I knew everything abouth this procedure, but ask me today and I can not tell you anything. I called my Dr.'s office and could not remember her name yet alone the ?s I wanted to asks her. Should I continue when I feel this way. I am not expressing my feelings to my husbands, instead I have him believing I am brave. I am scared. I was told two weeks ago that it is possible that my ovaries may have cancer. I cry all day while he is at work and pretend to be happy for him and the kids. i don't think I can do it much longer. I am so scared and then to think of all the what if. My grandmother had ovarian cancer, she knew something was wrong but was to ashamed to tell someone. When she finaly did it was to late. I don't want it to be to late but I I don't know what to do? Any advice PLEASE PLEASE

Re: Should I talk to My Hubby

Hi there, I'm 3wks post op for a TAH. I had 2 ovarian cycts, one was 31cm and was pre-cancerous, so yes I know what you are going through.
The good thing is that they got it in time, which I'm sure will be the same for you.
The waiting does mess with your head big time, I think you should share your fears with your husband. I find the support I get from sisters on this site to be really helpful too.
It's ok to be scared- I was absolutely terrified.
All the best to you for a speedy recovery

Re: Should I talk to My Hubby

Definitely talk to someone. Is your husband supportive? I also tried to put on a brave front but I broke down at one point and told him how scared I really was and how I just wanted to see my girls get married. He was wonderful then and has been through this entire process. If he is not supportive you may ask your physician's office for advice on someone that you can talk to. I actually got a call from a case worker at our cancer center asking if I needed anything or needed to talk to anyone. Good luck with this. Prayers are coming your way. Let us know how you are doing.

Re: Should I talk to My Hubby

Talk to your husband. Mine has been great at listening to my concerns and being there for me even when I over exaggerate and imagine all kinds of horrible things happening.

Re: Should I talk to My Hubby

Thanks for the great advice. He is very supportive and gets upset when I don't let him in. It feels good though to have sisters on this site that understands though.

Re: Should I talk to My Hubby

I just recently got the possible cancer diagnosis myself... my biopsy comes back on Monday. I am scheduled to have my open abdomen hysterectomy on 12/18 and I am scared to death.

I talk to my husband about it all the time. It's good because he has some concerns as well and we hash them out. Don't be afraid to talk to him, especially since he is supportive. Use his strength to help you get through this!

If he is supportive, let him in. Talk to him. Sorry you are going thru this. my dh has been very supportive of my decision and what a blessing. He just wants me healthy and happy.

Re: Should I talk to My Hubby

I truly believe you need to tell him. As scared and upset you are, imagine how devastated he would be to find out you knew and didn't tell him.
