"Bruised" feeling on belly, nowhere near hysterectomy incision

I have a VERY tender spot on my belly, on my right side - feels like a bruise when I touch it but it's not discolored. Is this normal? My surgeon mentioned he "sewed back" my abdominal muscles which had separated during my pregnancy. Could that be it? Or could I have strained it while trying to have a bm? I have my follow up tomorrow, so will mention it to doc, just worried about it

I have something similar -only mine is above where my uterus was. DH thinks it's the beginning of my insides healing. I have my follow up on Tuesday and am going to ask as well.

My whole stomach has been tender to the touch since my surgery. I actually pulled up a video of a dr performing a hysterectomy last night and have a much better understanding of the pain now. There is nothing inside that the dr doesn't touch. My incisions hasn't bothered me much. Like you said, the sewing up could be a lot of the problem now. Just remember to ask your dr. They should be used to answering repetitive questions. I called my dr at 1030 last night and they answered my questions and calmed my fears. All in a days work. Hope you feel better soon.
