Lower backaches

I am 47 years old and have been having lower backaches for a couple of years. I thought it was just an annoying backache. My primary care physican sent me for an ultrasound to see if maybe it was female issues. It came back fine. Meanwhile my periods were heavier than they had ever been, I was having small amounts of brownish - bloody discharge daily between periods, and was having period cramps almost daily. Off to the Gynocologist I go. Last August I had a D&C with a Hysteroscopy. It semed to help for a while. I have started back up with a little mild cramping between periods. The backaches are what is starting to get on my nerves. I'm starting to think it may be female organ related. I've noticed a pattern the last couple of months. It starts the week I ovulate and gets worse as my period approaches. It doesn't start getting better until just before I ovulate.
I am 5' 5" and weigh 190 pounds. I am over weight. I hired a personal trainer a few months ago and was doing great. I am trying to make some life changes. I can't work out when I start my period because heaven forbid I get up of the bike and leave a mess. My back hurts so bad I have a hard time wiping if you know what I mean. To be quit honest it is exausting me. I called my Gynocologist's office last week and told the nurse that I was pretty sure my Uterus was attached to the outside of my rear end, and that I was done with it and they could have it. I have an appointment in a couple of weeks. I also have a lot of lower abdominal preassure.
Has anyone had symptoms like this and was it realated to female issues? Does anyone know where I can get more information? I am more than ready to be gutted but don't want to make a mistake. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lower backaches

Endometriosis could be a possibility. I have low back pain with my endo and it has progressively gotten worse with time. You definitely need to consult with your doctor. Endometriosis won't show up on ultrasound---the only way to truly diagnose it is via surgery (ie laparoscopy). I'm sure there are other things it could be, but because of my history, that's the first thing that came to my mind.

Good luck and I hope you find the answers you need.

could also be adenomyosis. I have endo, adenomyosis and pelvic congestion (vericose veins of the uterus). I have constant lower back aches. Your symptoms could easily be endo or adeno. I to have pain from ovulation time on.I had a lap last may to clean up the endo and I had an ablation. Still having the lower back pain so I am going to take out the uterus.Good luck in finding out what it is. I am wishing you pain free days.

Lower backaches

Thanks for the replies. I was so uncomfortable this morning that I was ready to go to the emergency room. I haven't been to the emergency room since I was 6 years old. I called the Doctor and of course today is her day off. I have an appointment at 10:00 tomorrow morning so I guess I'll tough it out for one more night. Ice packs and moist heat are my best friend right now. The nurse asked me if I had fibroids. Not that I know of but I guess we sill see. If they ask me if I am doing my back exercises and send me home I think I will come unglued. I'll fill you in tomorrow.
