Positive Experience

Today was my surgery and I'm happy to report that I'm at home recovering and my pain is very manageable. My biggest complaint is the sharp pain in my shoulder/neck but that is from the CO2 gas. A real pain in the neck....

The surgery took 3 hours instead of the normal 90 minutes. My left ovary was encased in endometriosis and was the size of a large lemon. Both ovary and uterus were "stuck" to my bladder and had to be peeled away. I've had two C-Section and a lot of scar tissue. I'm so glad I chose the surgeon (gyncolocical oncologist w/extensive experience in advanced laprascopic surgery) I did because I'm not confident my OB/GYN would not have been able to do the same surgery w/o opening me up. The Dr took out everything including some lymph nodes to test for cancer. My Dr had the lab do "quick" test during the surgery and found no signs of cancer in the uterus but I won't get a clear bill of health until the final results are back in a week or so.

Looking forward to my new life without all the bleeding.
