Loose the ovaries or hold on to hope?

hello everyone..

I'm 27, been suffering with endo, hemmorraging cysts, chronic pelvic pain and too much doctoring. Just lately I had a hormone panel. My DHEA was really HIGH!! Normal is 14 - 224...I'm at 439, thus causing my hormoes to be WAY out of control. My estrogen and progesterone are out of wack and I also suffer from adrenal fatigue. Thus...I am not ovulating. At all. I might never have been at all. My ovaries are so damaged (both completely ruptured apart 5 years ago) that I might not even be useable for IV. I am currently looking for a fertility dr to talk about options. I guess my question is...how long do I hang on the the hope of having my own children? I'm in pain, my husband and I have NO sex life and my current medical plan makes me so irritated that sometimes i feel like I'm going to get violent. And that is NOT ME! i know its because my hormoes are unbalanced. Is there a way to force your body back to normal, or do i accept the inevitable, have the hyst and actually start my life? This has controlled my life for WAY too long.
I'm so glad i found this sight. Any advice would be appreciated.

Loose the ovaries or hold on to hope?

i have also had a LEEP to remove moderate dysplasia from my cervix. Three laps to remove cysts. One the size of a grapefruit...non-cancerous thank goodness. I have been on Lupron and Depo...HORRIBLE side effects. The main one being, my pituitary gland doesn't function normally anymore. Anyone thinking about this "silver bullet drug" really should think long and hard about it. i really need some advice. I'm going crazy! i have no kids, probably can't anyway. Please help me...

It sounds like you have a lot going on!

What type of doctors are you seeing? Do you have an endometriosis specialist? Do you have an endocrinologist or a reproductive endocrinologist?

There are many issues to consider in your situation. Can your hormon issues be treated with medications/hormones without needing surgery? If you need your ovaries removed, will you also have your uterus removed or will your doctors help you prevent endometrium build up with the use of HRTs?

If you have any surgery, will the surgeon be skilled enough to remove as much endo as possible? How will you treat the endo if you need to take HRTs either with or without surgery?

We have a lot of information in our Resource Database that you may want to read through. Learn all you can about your specific conditions and then sit down and talk to your doctors about all of your questions. You may find you need more than one doctor to help you deal with each aspect of your health.

I wish you the very best and hope you find some answers soon! s

Loose the ovaries or hold on to hope?

I have seen an OBGYN to a homeopathic doctor to find any alternative to a hyst. which has been pushed on me since I was 20. I have been on HRT and Bio-identical hormones wich actually made me worse. Problem with being estrogen dominant, adding more isn't a good thing. I am currently on high levels of progesterone. they are trying to make my cycle normalize. I think my body thinks it's 55 and not 27. i was told after a dr. found my ovaries had ruptured that I had about a 1 in 1,000 chance of getting pregnant. And that was 7 years ago. I lost 1/2 of my right ovary to a cyst removal and that was my good one out of the two. I'm in the process of making an appointment to see an endocrinologist. Hopefully they can tell me if it's even possible to have my own children. that's the only reason I've hung on this long. i just want to wake up one morning and really feel good. That would be a perfect day. Thanks ~

Loose the ovaries or hold on to hope?

Oh yeah...any my cycle is stupid. I don't have a normal 28 dayer. It's more like 23 to 35. And when it comes it's either really light pink with small clots, dark red with dime to nickle sized clots or dark brown crap. irritating...
