20 days after hysterectomy surgery: burning sensation and sore muscles - is this normal?

I am on day 20 post op and I have been experiencing a burning sensation in my belly button area and even above that area. Is this normal? And, my muscles are very sore in my lower abdomen. Has anyone else experienced this? I am sure it is normal but I am wondering if I am overdoing it. I can't wait to get back to normal again and just do my normal activities. Otherwise, I am feeling pretty good.

Re: 20 days after hysterectomy surgery, is this normal?

Recovery can be frustrating. You are at the 3 week mark - just the time when we are bored and tired with recovery, and also the point where a lot of us have setbacks. It's hard finding the balance of what is enough activity but not too much. It's trial and error. If your incision sites are sore or your abdomen hurts, try taking it easier for a day or two to see if it improves. If you're worried that something isn't right, give your doctor a call. Happy healing!
