9 days post op abdominal Hysterectomy. Hematoma

i've been feeling pain on the left side since about 4 days post op. waited for it to pass but it wouldn't go away with the pain meds. i went to the doc this morning and he said it was only a small hematoma. I was so relieved! i thought it might be a start of a pocket of infection. he says it's normal and i'm healing great. and that though i'll be tender for longer it will completely heal in about 9 months. on a scale of 1-10 of pain it's about a 6, makes me a lil gimpy but nothing too bad and nothing serious so i am so thankful!! when i asked why i didn't feel it right after surgery he said it was because it was just a bot of nerve damage but the discomfort is a good sign b/c it shows it's healing. phwew.

I'm so glad to find your post. I'm 9 days post op and I have a small area on the right that is giving me a little pain. It is not under an incision so I wasn't immediately alarmed and it did start after the itch did. It feels more like a burn and is not too painful just annoying. Thanks for the post.
