TAH 4 weeks post hysterectomy - dark brown discharge

4 weeks post op I began having a dark brown discharge. I called drs office and nurse didn't seem alarmed. Now 5 weeks and its still there. I don't see any blood or red/pinkness. Will this last long? What is it?

I had the dark brown discharge at about 3-1/2 weeks post-op; my doctor said it was normal - that it was dried blood from the internal healing. It stopped completely around the 6 week post-op point for me. Hope this helps ease your concern. Take care!!

I had the same thing off and on until i was about 8 weeks.. Don't fret

I had it too. My doc said it is old blood that is released as the stitches dissolve. It shouldn't last too long. Mine stopped by six weeks. Certainly if you start bleeding a lot or it has a foul smell, you should go be seen. Hopefully it will be gone soon.

4 weeks and still pinkish brown discharge seems to lessen then increase again when I think it's almost gone. ..its normsl I understand so.....
