pre op

My LAVh is scheduled for June 15th, so I was wondering how far do they schedule the pre ops out from the surgery. I was just wondering if I needed to call my dr., to see when I was scheduled for my pre op. I'm just getting anxious.

Re: pre op

I had part of my on the phone this morning and the blood work and respiratory on Monday. The only thing she told me this morning that is a concern for them at my hospital, it he pregnancy test. I have to have that done on the 23rd of June at my local hospital! LOL, that one is cracking me up! DH was fixed after our last child 13 years ago, I am 43 and the way I feel right now, no way in hell is there even a remote chance I could be or will be getting pregnant before my surgery but I understand the reasoning behind it. Actually the way my cycle seems to be going I should be having my last period that week! yippeee!!!!

Re: pre op

Katie
It would be a good idea to call the Dr. to check. The hospital usually calls and arranges their pre op, but sometimes you don’t get one with the Dr unless you ask. That was the way it was for me.
Good Luck!
Hugs,
Suzanne

Re: pre op

Yep, it's a good idea to call. I have had different experiences for pre-op. With my hysterectomy, all I had was a blood draw. Period. But when I had my hematoma surgery a year later, I had all sorts of meetings with doctors and a physical work-up as well. I think it just depends on the hospital and the doctor.

to you.
