Re: UFE has been suggested for me

For UFE to be effective the fibroids must me inside the uterus and not pedunculated (stalked). For a radiologist to assess your candidacy they will request a pelvic MRI. No one should plan UFE on ultrasound alone.

I'm still recovering from my UFE and my 6 month MRI should be around May 1st. I am reserving judgement on my total experience but have been trying to keep updating my case on my comment strand. You can click on my name and find my other forum posts.

Please let me know what you decide and how things go for you. It's hard to deal with this even though it's not life threatening. It's a long road and there are no wrong answers...just do what you feel to be right for you.

Re: UFE has been suggested for me: updated

There is never anything wrong with waiting and watching.

I met my new GYN on Tuesday and had an ultrasound and I have good news: the fibroid has gone from 9cm (on TV ultrasound) to 5.8 X 4.7 cm. I will get the most accurate measurement from the MRI later. This is a BEST case scenario! It is now small enough to have DiVinci if needed. I have been advised to watch and wait further, document details of menstruation, etc.

Two 10cm fibroids are considered quite large. I personally would want to stop or slow the growth. You don't really say if the doctor discussed the likely outcome of UFE for you. Take care
