tvh-same day surgery?

My Dr said she does the tvh as same day surgery and I will only need to stay in the hospital if there are complications. It seems that most people are saying they spent at least one night in the hospital. Has anyone had a tvh as outpatient?

thats what my doc said but when i said i wasnt comfortable coming home the same day she said ok and i will be spending the night.

I would insist on staying the night in the hospital. From everything I've read we will be in pain after surgery and will need meds to control the pain and I do not think that can be done at home. I know they will send you home with pain meds, but you don't know how well they will work. What ever you decide best wishes to you!

I am looking at a tvh maybe lavh removing uterus and cervix and from what my doc's nurse told me I am expecting two days in the hospital even though they consider the surgury outpatient. I think I would definately question being sent home the same day after having such a serious surgury.

I'm hoping to go home the same day....having a LAVH, removing ovaries. I just hate hospitals (I work full time as a nurse in one....just cannot stand being a patient, AND I'd be cared for by my co-workers....awkward!)

Mine is scheduled for Nov 21st and will be same day surgery, also. I'm in OKC.

I am scheduled for a LAVH/BSO (total package) and was told I will be in the hospital at least 1 night.

My doctor has also stated that I will hopefully get to go home the same day. However she has made the arrangements for me to go home on a pain ball?
