dVH/RALH: Got my date! But not doing so well right now.

Got the call today that my surgery is scheduled for April 15. Now what?

I have a big concern, my period has been going on for 9 days now. Never has lasted this long. Passing clots and activity makes it worse. Any thoughts? Is this because of the fibroids, endo, or the thickened endometrium and enlarged uterus?

Yay on getting your date!! I think I wouldn't be overly concerned unless you are hemorrhaging... when I was, I was going through a super tampon AND an overnight pad every 1/2 hour. I have fibroids and always had clots... some were huge and felt like I had given birth! Still alive to tell about it though. LOL. If you are concerned, maybe a little call to your doc's office just to see what they say. My periods always lasted at least 10 days and up to a month. Not fun, as Im sure you feel too! But, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and even though the 15th seems far away, it will be here before you know it!

I agree, unless you're hemorrhaging it should be ok. If it will put your mind at ease, call your Dr. and talk to a nurse. I have a fibroid, and a huge uterus and my periods can be nasty (heavy, long, clotty, painful, etc.) Getting the date is exciting! It will be here before you know it.

Thank you guys! I will give it until tomorrow or Friday. If it gets worse I will give the doctor a call. I am glad I got the date and it will be here before I know it. Just in a whirlwind right now.

Congrats on getting the date set. Give the nurse a call and let them know whats up if it keep on, just in case. Good Luck! Mine is on 4/10!
