I have a question about length of hospital stay

I was in the hospital for 4 days, for the first 3 days I wasn't allowed to eat, most of that time they didn't even allow me to have liquids. I'm sure I lost some weight, but I never weighed myself. My surgery was 6 months ago, and everyone says I've lost weight. I don't think I've actually lost weight, what I've lost is the swelling from a very large fibroid and enlarged uterus. I never realized the bulge was anything other than me being overweight, but I can clearly see the difference in my belly now.

I feel better than I have in my life, I have a lot more strength than I ever had.

Good luck with your surgery!

I have a question about length of hospital stay

There is a range in the amount of time in the hospital. It depends on the type of procedure.

It seems pretty common for a TAH to stay 2 nights, a Vag hyst 1 or 2 nights.

It takes some time after surgery to be able to say yes, you feel better, depending on what your symptoms were before, and the type of surgery.

I have a question about length of hospital stay

I'm scheduled for a vaginal hysterectomy this September and I was told by my doc that I'll have a two night stay as long as there are no complications. I'm not worried about weight gain. My uterus is enlarged now and I have abdominal swelling. I'm hoping to maybe even lose a pound or two once it's removed!
