Last night I had a breakdown moment. I cried to my hubby until about 1:00am and I have about 2 1/2 months to go until my surgery. If I have these now how will it be after surgery??? Is it pretty normal to have depression moments before surgery HELP!!!!

Hi, well, you sound pretty normal to me. I went from laughing to crying and back again in minutes sometimes while I was waiting for my hyst. It can be a very scary , emotional time. Fear of the unknown can really get to me

It might be helpful if you would talk to your dr about it all, he/she might have some helpful suggestions.

Best wishes.

Hi (((sc8ter))),

I am so sorry that you are feeling depressed
Your DH sounds very supportive and loving. It would be a good idea to call your Dr and let him know about your depression. If left alone, it may go away, or it could get worse. Your Dr can assess your situation and prescribe the best treatment for you. With all the treatments available, there really isn't any reason for you to suffer through depression without help.

I hope you feel better real soon.
Here is an extra big and a ,

Yes, I think you are normal for having moments of depression before surgery..But I agree with pp about speaking with your doc. You don't want your "depression moments" to turn into a full blown depression..I know this is a very hard time for you..There are a lot of us with the same feelings..We are here to talk if you need us.

Dear sk8ter,

In one simple word "YES" it is perfectly normal to have those feelings before surgery. Honestly, for me, the waiting was the WORST time. I had a complete meltdown about one week before my surgery where I just sat on my porch and cried for about 2 hours. Whatever you do, don't beat yourself up about it, and if you need to vent to someone who understands, your "sisters" are here for you. As for how you will feel after surgery, everyone is different but I actually felt a sense of relief that it was over, and I could move on with the next chapter of my life. Hope this helps. I am sending hugs and prayers your way.

Had TVH/BSO for endo, chronic bleeding and fibroids.

I agree with all of the above.

I am 2 weeks post op from an LAVH/BSO and feeling great.

I remember feeling skeptical when so many women wrote:
"The waiting is the hardest part"
That statement is now true for me as well.

Please do contact your DR, I did as well, there are a variety of treatment options pre op that can help you. There is no reason for you to suffer needlessly leading up to your surgery date. Also, know that we are always here to help guide you through! :bgin:

Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and speedy recovery...I'll be praying for you.

"hug:'S

Thank you sisters for all the kind words and prayers. I almost started crying again because I have not been supported this much through a tough time before. Thanks again hugs to all of you
