Doc said "Glue" no staples!!! ???

My Doctor said that he is going to Glue me back together with my TAH possible BSO this Thursday. I've had 2 C-sections and always had staples. Glue sounds good to me! Has anyone here had the Glue experience? Seems to me that the incision would look and feel a whole lot better. No draining from wound, etc. ??? Really getting sick over the anethesia idea already!

I did not have glue, but I saw a documentary on TV showing the glue and explaining the entire process. Sounds like a lot less painful (no pulling etc) and the scar is a lot neater according to the show. Also said glue is ideal for injuries etc.

I had staples in for one day. Before I went home, they took the staples out and "glued" me back together also. It was great! And yes, the incision is healing quite nicely. I was always afraid of it opening, but I guess the stuff is like crazy glue because nothing seem to bother it.

I've read good things about the glue...nothing bad. Try posting on the Post Op side to see if you get more response.

What about the anethesia? Thought about a spinal?

One of the actresses from that new surfing film... "Blue..." something... cut her foot during filming and glued it rather than having it stitched. She said with the glue she was able to go right back in the water, whereas with stitches she'd be "grounded" for a while. I got the impression that *she* glued it herself (could be wrong there...) - probably one of those "don't try this at home" things.

But back to hysts - like the other sisters said, I've only heard good things about glue. I would *guess* it would leave a neater scar, too.

Hi Sheila

I had the glue for my TAH/Burch. I had absolutely no problems with it. I think it was great! I have a "baby apron" stomach anyways, so I think it would have been really irritated by staples.

Hope it works out well for you!
