1 week post hysterectomy and still having lots of pain

It's been one week and I'm still having a lot of pain nothing like that first weekend so it is getting better. It all seems to be in my lower abdomens into my lower back and little stabbing Laing by my hip bones. I've been taking my pain meds, and putting I've packs on my tummy several times a day. I've notice the more I'm up and active the more I swell and hurt. We were only going to stay at my inlaws for a month but after reading a the complications that can occur when going back to life to early we are going to stay the full six weeks. After I get the all clear from my doctor we will return to normal life. I'm still having those weepy moments so just to be safe at my first post op I'm going to have them test my thyroid and hormone levels. I'm just so ready to feel human again.

Re: 1 week post op and still having lots of pain

Dear Lisa,

I am 3 1/2 weeks post op with a TAH. At about week one I got the bloats and had real bad pain. One poster (sorry forgot name) mentioned that light control panties (like Spanx) really helped her deal with the bloats and pain. Well I left skid marks on the carpet getting to my panty drawer. I pulled a pair on that I would have worn with dress pants to "smooth" things out, and behold! the pain and bloats were gone in less than 3 hours. Since then I have lived in this type of panty and my pain now only comes from movement, ie twisting sitting up and then only in twinges. Hope this helps and I am ever so grateful to the sister who gave that suggestion!
