bowel prep worries were for nothing

I was stressing more about the prep than the surgery. I took all the tips and advice I could find. Clothing choices weren't mentioned anywhere. I wore a loose top and a yoga add skirt, no shorts to fumble with. Super comfy and cool. Got the grape mag citrate. It was like salty grape soda, the last half was bad because the salt was sticking to my lips and that's all I could taste. Followed with gum and then jello. Put butt paste (actual name) on right after I drank it. I went a few times and I don't know if it was dueto being very regular or the nervous diarrhea I had the night before but it went to clear quickly and I only made a few trips to the bathroom. Got some chores and crafts done. The hardest part is the liquid diet. I have been starving all day. It seems that when I expect the worst it is not nearly as bad as I was thinking it would be.

YaY! You got that out of the way! Good luck with your surgery tomorrow. I know you're hungry now, but just think that you are better prepared for tomorrow.

I already told my fiance to bring me something after my surgery when I can have food. I'm glad it all worked out, don't want there to be any complications for the docs, it'll be tricky enough from what they say.

That sounds like a good plan. See how you feel afterwards and go from there.

I was surprised they really didn't give me any restrictions other than nothing after midnight (no water or food). My other surgeries I have had were emergencies so I had eaten and drank within 6-8 hours or less of surgery. I was miserably nauseous and throwing up for hours afterwards from the anesthesia. I plan on eating light the day before so things should be pretty cleaned out just in case. I know I don't want to go through that again.
