Hello Ladies They changed my surgery from the 4th to the 10 with preop on the 8th-I'am no way excited about surgery but it is taking forever to get here-My boss at work let me go ahead and take off last week because work was so slow so now I'm home all day going nuts-I have cleaned so much that my husband says we can eat off the kitchen floor-I'm running out of things to do-I went in my sons room and even cleaned and that was scarey ! Any ideas on how to pass the time away-I feel like I'm going crazy-being nervous-anticipating-wanting it to be overwith-also I gave my doc this website to telll her patients about I told her it was the greatest website I have ever been on and its true!!

Hi,

I have a sort of diary where I count down
the days and write my thoughts down
(almost daily).
It's particularly helpful on bad days, but I
also try to find out the positive aspects of
my situation. That's not easy but I think
we always have something to be grateful for,
even in difficult times.
It's a good way to express my feelings and fears,
besides this wonderful board of course
Maybe it doesn't work for everyone, but
it does for me!

Hi sunnie
Have you thought of fixing some meals ahead and freezing them? They can be a big help on nights when you aren't up to cooking, which could be for a while. The only other thing I can think of is to get out of the house. Go do something fun, something that takes energy. You will most likely be housebound for a time and it might feel good to use this time to do things away from home.
I think you'll find the time will go faster than you think. My surgery was also postponed and I was grateful for the time. At first I groaned like you, but in the end I felt I was better prepared for my surgery, physically and mentally.

Hi Sunnie,

my surgery will be April 19th.
My long waiting started January 24th!
I'm really learning patience...I have
no choice
I'll have TAH RSO (left ovary already
out): many fibroids, ovarian cyst,
endo.

I wish you all the best with your
surgery!
