Finally have a date!

....no, not the romantic, fun type of date.......unfortunately!

Surgery date set for April fools day! Not sure how I feel about that.....

Doc uncertain what type of entrance will be taken. She will try for a LAVH, but may end up having to do TAH since my uterus is quite enlarged due to a 9cm degenerating fibroid. Will leave ovaries if they look good. But, will take tubes. Having pre-op 3/18.

Just can't wait to get this over with! No more constant bleeding!!

Any words of wisdom and tips are appreciated!

I think the most helpful are:
- Meals in the freezer that you can easily pop in the microwave
- Get easy lunches (pre-made frozen lunches) and breakfasts stuffs (oatmeal, cold cereal, yogurt, etc.)
- Loose fitting clothing
- Recovery corner with pillows, blankets, etc.
- Favorite DVDs and light reading

Hi! That is great news. This site has great info and supportive women that have experienced what you are going through. Me included. I had surgery 2-24-15. No regrets and nothing but happy thoughts. Wishing you a successful surgery and smooth recovery.

I had the same issue; grapefruit size fibroid and just had my surgery on 2/26/15. My doctor was wonderful and the information here has been very helpful. Be compliant with the doctor's preop orders & you should be fine during recovery!
