How long to wear Belly Band Binder ?

hi,
my DR. ordered me a belly band binder the 2nd day after my surgery, and I forgot to ask her at my 6 wk. visit the other day on how long I should wear it ?
what do you think ?

I would wear it as long as it makes you feel more comfortable. I myself switched from the belly binder to support panties (light to medium support work best for me) since they are less bulky, but here I am nearly 4 months on and wearing them again today! It made a real difference for me in helping to prevent swelly belly, and in reducing pain, so I don't care what anyone says, I just let my body tell me what it wants. At this stage it wants some support if I exercise vigorously or if I am going to spend the day on my feet. What I suggest is to try part of a day without it and see how you feel. You'll know if you want it back on, but if all feels fine you can do without it.

thanks so much for your info. I tried to go without it but when in the car it still hurts a bit and I had these twingy type pains this evening that hurt and scared me ? !!!!!!
any idea on that ?

They put a binder on me in the recovery room as soon as I opened my eyes the nurse had me lift my pelvis and put it on me. I was addicted to my binder. I probably wore it too much but I wore it when I went back to work 6 weeks after surgery. I felt I needed extra support when I went to work and walking down stairs etc. Ask your doctor, but I dont think you can wear it too much!
