may be on period when surgery scheduled

Should I be concerned that I am about to start my period before or during my surgery? Not sure when it will start, but have symptoms already.

My doc told me, no problem, if I am on my period.

The count down is on!!

My doctor told me that would be no problem, he actually said "enjoy it, it will be your last".

Good Luck!

Re: may be on period when surgery scheduled

My hysterectomy is scheduled for Friday and good ol' Aunt Flo decided to squeeze in a visit. I asked my doctor about it and she said not to worry about it.

Re: may be on period when surgery scheduled

I'm on mine now. My surgery is Thursday. As much as it hurts so bad right now, it solidifies the need for surgery. I'm all too glad to be having it done....scared...but glad...and my doctor also is not concerned about it. Good Luck!

Re: may be on period when surgery scheduled

This is a very common question here. Not once have I read that a lady was denied the step to becoming a Princess due to that nasty last period.

I should have started mine a few days prior to my surgery. Had all the "symptoms", in fact I was late and I had never been late in my life. It held off! Yea!!!

Ditto!

I went into the hospital wearing a pad because dear Aunt Flo had visited, and I left the hospital wearing a pad, but not because of Aunt Flo. Good luck to you on your surgery and may you have a smooth recovery.

Re: may be on period when surgery scheduled

Hi, good luck for your surgery

I asked that exact question at my pre-op last week, was told no problem but to let the nursing staff now when I arrive, the only other thing is dealing with the pain as my dr said he'd prefer me not to take any pain medications for 7 days prior to surgery.

Re: may be on period when surgery scheduled

I went into surgery bleeding....came out not a drop. The nurses told me that they were used to blood.
