I think I'm prepared mentally. Can someone explain exactly what a tummy pillow is? I understand you use it to pad your tummy when you have to cough or protect yourself, but is this just like a regular pillow but just smaller?

I'm planning on moving to the guestroom for a bit. We just got a new mattress in there and I'll use a baby gate to keep the 7 furkids out but so hubby can still hear me if I need something.

I do have a few pre-op jitters but I know this is normal. I'm mostly afraid of a nose bleed in the middle of being put under. I have spontanious nose bleeds if I'm under stress. The doctors are aware of it, but I have no control over it and worry that I may choke on a blood clot.

You're correct, a tummy pillow is just a small pillow that you use to hold against your abdomen. It helps to hold things together if you sneeze, cough, laugh, etc.

Just want to join the other ladies, wishing you luck on your operating days. Yes, since the doctors know of you nose problem it will be taken care of.

And as far as the tummy pillow goes, it is a good idea to have one or two towels near by, when you have your bowel movements. Roll one or two towels up when having a bowel movement, this helps to ease things alot.

Remember, take it easy when you get out. Take advantage of being pampered.
