Soooooo Agitated And Anxious

ON MONDAY WHEN I WENT TO THE DR WE DISCUSSED EITHER GOING 6 MTHS ON LUPRON THEN DO THE HYSTERECTOMY OR JUST GO AHEAD AND PLAN IT, WELL WHEN I LEFT HIS OFFICE HE DID GO AHEAD AND GIVE ME A SHOT OF LUPRON AND TOLD ME THAT HE WOULD CALL ME, WELL THAT NIGHT HE CALLED AND SAID HE HAD GOTTEN WITH THE GYN SURGEON AND THEY WOULD BE CONTACTING ME IN THE NEXT DAY OR 2 WELL TODAY IS DAY 3. I AM SO TIRED OF BEING PUT OFF. WE ARE MILITARY AND THE DR WHO IS TREATING ME NOW IS THE 4TH DR I HAVE SEEN AND HE SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY ONE WHO IS TRYING TO HELP ME BUT THEN AGAIN WHY AM I TOLD ONE THING BUT IT IS NOT BEING DONE. SO FRUSTRATING. I FEEL LIKE I AM CONSTANTLY HAVING TO CALL UP THERE TO GET WHAT THEY SAID DONE. I TRIED 2 MONTHS AGO TO HAVE THEM RELEASE ME SO I COULD SEEK A CIVILIAN DR BUT THAT IS WHEN THEY START DOING THINGS SO TO PLEASE ME I GUESS. I GUESS I AM JUST FEELING REAL EMOTIONAL AND ANXIOUS. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHEN I SAY I WILL BE GLAD WHEN IT IS OVER. I AM READY FOR MY LIFE BACK.

Keep at it

Just remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. If I were you, I'd be the squeakiest darned wheel you can be. Believe me, they'll get moving as quickly as possible as soon as they realize what a pain in the neck you are going to be.

I know it's very hard and very frustrating to have to constantly be a thorn in their sides, but in the long run it will be to your advantage.

As my dear departed mother used to say, "Bit*ch a little, you'll feel better!"

Good luck,
s

It is your body............

I think doctors like to offer so many alternatives to avoid surgery (liability) and even civilian docs doe this to avoid hassles with the insurance companies (that is another story). Although my own doctor and I fully decided on a hysterectomy, I almost had to work to convince the surgeon to do it. He kept offering me that drug too and then asked me 40 times about not having children (I am almost 40 and don't want any). I finally just was firm and said, "I have done my research, I am tired of bleeding, and I want the surgery." We set it up that day and I was so glad I was assertive! Good luck and like every one said, be squeeky, don't let them play around with time and your body. Take care.

We are military to, so I can totally understand. I had my surgery done in a vetrans hospital and it was horrible! (they just dont know how to deal with female patients).

The doc had put me on the schedule and I should have heard in about a week week and half when my surgery was for. Well 3 weeks later nothing. I call and low and behold it had been deleted off the schedule. So now the doc rushes it to keep me on track for when he had originally wanted. I was scheduled for 3 weeks later.

The thing about mil hospitals and the military system is just like someone else said, the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

yes I know its a pain, but as my dh says, it is free health care! lol (if i could only bill him for the amount of time I spend on the phone with them)heheheehehe

Hi I am military also. Are you active duty or dependent and what branch? Call everyday and you do have the right to go downtown to a real doctor. Hope all goes well. Please keep us informed. We need to stick together. : )
