Period pains after TAH...

OK, so this may be a somewhat dumb question, but will I still experience period pains after my TAH since I'm keeping my ovaries? I know many may get a giggle out of this question and that's fine, but this is a serious question of my.

I don't know about others but for me I did for sure get period pain once a month. It has stopped now and June will be 2 yrs, best of luck

Nothing for me and I used to get severe pain for the first two days of my period. I was told after the surgery that I have superficial (Stage 1) endometriosis on my ovaries and that is what caused the pain for the last 40 years. Insane when I think I have been suffering for that long. Anyhow, the surgeon cauterized what he could and so far, so good. No pain at all. Hope it stays that way.

Thank you both for responding, I really appreciate your input. My oncologist is going to look at my ovaries to make sure that the endometriosis isn't bad and said that if there is only a little that he could cautirize (?) it. However if it is extensive he will have to take my ovaries. I am really hoping this is not the case but if so, I have no other choice.

I had a TAH (and kept my ovaries) last Sept. and I can tell every month when my period is due because I still have the sore and swollen breasts that I used to get a few days before my period. Even though it's been 5 months, I still have a moment of panic and then I come to my senses and realize that I'm not going through all that pain and bleeding any more.
