1 month post hysterectomy: WOUND TUNNEL, anyone have a wound vac?

Hi ladies,

after all my issues and everything I've been through I now have a tunneling wound on my abdomen.... I was just curious to find out if any of you had this happen and how long it took for everything to heal? I see my GYN every other day to have it packed and cleaned. He mentioned a wound vac to me today but Idk if I really want to be cut a 3rd time.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thx

Re: 1 month post hysterectomy: WOUND TUNNEL.... help

How often would you need wound care with a wound vac, and how much faster would the wound heal? What about the pain factor? Would there actually be cutting with the vac? I would get more specific information on it, and possibly consider a wound care consult. The experiences I have heard have been positive, so I hope someone who has had a wound vac will give their actual experiences, pro or con. I hope you have good healing and can get past this phase soon.
