Pain killers before surgery question

I am in alot of pain, I think AF is showing up... My doc gave me darvocet n 100 a few weeks ago. his nurse said I could take it up to 48 hours before surgery.. I guess I would feel better about taking it if the doc had said it was okay. Anyone take it this close to the castle time?? I go in on wednesday.

My doc had me on oxycodone 5/325 (?). The 5 is oxycontin and the 325 is Tylenol. I was in ALOT of pain weeks prior to surgery, and he told me to take this up until the night before. Which I did, and he said if I needed when I got the pre op area of the hospital, they would give it to me there, as I was not allowed anything from midnight the night before. (except BP meds, with a sip of water in the a.m.) Good Luck
