What I learned from friends.......

Just wanted to share a few things that helped me....hope it helps all other "princesses"!

1.) If you can and want to take HRT, get a patch, pill, lotion or other form before you leave the hospital. This really made a difference with me. I've felt so much better w/the patch!

2.) Keep some of your pads - they'll come in handy to deal w/any discharge you may have those first few days at home.

2a.) Buy panties one size larger than you normally wear, it really helped not be too tight on my incisions!

3.) Drink water BEFORE and AFTER your surgery. I was determined that the iv's were going to go in smoothly so I wanted to be hydrated. The benefit was that it helped me to get back to regular bowel movements.

4.) Got this from a nurse....Don't use straws to drink liquid the first week or so because they will make the gas worse!

5.) If you have trouble sleeping ( I did) on your side, put a pillow between your legs or if you sleep on your back try pillows under your knees.

6.) Rest, rest, rest! I know it's hard, but resting is so important.

7.) Know that all your Hystersisters luv ya and will be thinking of you....you go princess !
