Packing

I am 13 days post op. My follow up exam is on December 23rd. Just the past 24 hour I have felt kind of pinchy in the vaginal area more so when sitting. Almost like having a tampon that has dropped and not in all the way. Some pressure. Upon examining myself I see what seems to be packing. DON'T want to pull. Yet show that be there. Anyone ever have this problem before. Is it something that should be there until my visit with the Dr.

I would call the doctor. I kept my cervix so I didn't have packing but from what I have read, normally the packing is removed the day after the operation. Call for your own piece of mind since none of us are doctors (that I know of). =)

I had my cervix removed and didn't have packing that I could remember. I had a cesarean hysterectomy due to complications from pregnancy. I was on morphine for 2 days but I don't ever remember packing. I would call your doctor. That is something that maybe need to be removed. I hope you get answers quickly. I had vaginal packing which was removed the morning after surgery. It all came out in one long piece. I felt a lot of pressure which was relieved when it was removed.
You should see the doctor tomorrow if possible to see what's going on.

I had a TVH and cervix was removed and I had packing. The nurse took it out the next morning when she took out the catheter. I would call the doc.

i too had packing after surgery. i was in the hospital one day, and the next day after i was home i got a call from my doctor saying she was so busy telling me all the things not to do when i was home she forgot to take the packing out! i dont fault her at all. i really really like my doctor. so she had my husband remove it while i remained on the phone with her. it was really no big deal. he just pulled it slowly out. it just felt like one really long tampon. LOL.......everything was fine.
