TVH 5 days post hysterectomy: Bloating!

Five days post-op and I feel like my abdomen might just explode! I have been taking gas-x, but the bloating is horrendous. i've tried walking around, too. My gut is so tight. Any suggestions?

Heating pad. I used a heating pad on my tummy for the first few days and it helped. And then took my gas x and was able to let out some good ones that gave me some relief too.

If you can tolerate it (couldnt after LAVH but did after laparoscopy) after you walk lay down as flat as you can. Bending my knees took pressure off abdomen. Even a minute or two seemed to help! I also liked chammomile tea and room temp 7up. I sipped it and it helped me burp!!

I do love peppermint tea. I might as well have some. . I'll try lying flat, too. With the heating pad on. Hey, ladies. Ill try it all.

I am 4 days post-op from Davinci hysterectomy. They left ovaries. I have never had surgery and seemed to do fine. They out mebon colace and said eat fiber and drink lots of water. 3 days after I still had not had BM until I decided to do a enema because I heard horror stories about getting impacted and such. It worked and here I am again bloated and nothing is happening BM wise. I feel like I am gonna explode. Also I have a migraine every time I wake up or my pain med wears off.

I have had regular movements since the day after my surgery and I'm not suffering from gas (though I did for a few days) but I swell like crazy every day. Today was the first day I only had a little swelling.

i'm not sure about how long you can go without a bm. I went four days without. Do you think it is gas or pooh, Burrights?
