Hi Girls

I am a new member although i've been looking around this site for about a year and a half. I am scheduled for a svh November 14th and I want to thank all of you! This is the most informative site i've come across. I'm still nervous and very anxious, but I feel better every time I visit you. Thanks!

Hi Girls

I don't know about the swelly belly. It's pretty uncomfortable to put jeans on. But my loose ones are OK. Sweats are even better. I've been off of work for 5 weeks now. I couldn't imagine 7 days. On about the 10th day I was ticked that the kids didn't clean the fridge like I had asked and I sat on the floor to clean the veg bins. The next day my side felt pretty tender. Like an inside bruise.

I don't think it would hurt to sit at a desk but you do twist and have a tendency to lapse into things like bending and carrying too much. My butt didn't hurt. I feel tugging sometimes. I had four vag deliveries and I didn't have any pain afterward. Alot of bleeding though. The hyst didn't require huge pads.

I had a rectocele repair and was afraid that BMs would hurt. But no, they were fine.

Seven days sounds pretty soon to me.

Hi Girls

welcome, you will find a wealth of info from this site. You will also find that every person on this site is wonderful, caring and helpful.. Everyone jumps at the chance to help another person out.

I have learned so much from this site by reading and asking questions. We are each different but our experiences all relate.

As mentioned, I would think 7 days is too early but I have seen others who had the same surgery and they are making amazing progress. Best advice is prepare for a long recovery and be surprised at how fast you recover.

As for swellie bellie, I have noted many have gotten/have it and many don't. I do know that the more I move around the closer to 9 months pregnant I look. When I move slowly and relax a lot, my tummy goes right down. I try to balance it out.

Take care

Hi Girls

i have a silly question: if i only have my uterus removed, will my hormones change? if so, will it be immediate? i'm not afraid of surgery itself, i am just wondering how it will effect me afterward. i am also a bit nervous because when i get home, i will most likely be alone. the kids will be at grandmas and my mother works full time in another city (i am a single mom) i hope i will be able to shower! thanks guys.

Hi Girls

I think just the touching anything around the ovaries upsets them. I think they tend to stop functioning for a while. My experience has been good. Once I got home, DB hung around a bit, but I told him to go watch the football game in a bar. I was able to shower and fix a sandwich or a snack by myself.

I hope you are able to do the same.

Hi Girls

Even with just your uterus removed, your ovaries could go into shock sending you into what they call surgical menopause. Sometimes they wake up, others times they don't. With me, I had LAVH with anterior repair and have not had issues with swelly belly or hormone fluctuation ( so far so good!).
