Crazy question of the day award goes to ... How much pain is too much pain?
I am very frustrated. I am at the three week mark and seem to go one step forward ... two steps back and they are by no means big steps ... LOL
I have not taken strong meds since week one and a half but believe me if I had more I would be taking them. I am now taking Motrin for it's anti inflammatory properties and Tylenol 1 with codeine which are over the counter meds here in Canada.
I do not have my first post op until the 6 week mark but wonder if I should be hurting as much as I do. Perhaps I am just a wimp ... LOL I am pretty much on bed rest as I am most comfortable laying down. I do walk every hour and get up and down to watch TV and such.
I can best explain it by saying I feel like I have been kicked in the belly by twenty guys in their steel toe boots! I also have twinges of sharp pain.
Sorry so long a post and thanks if you got this far.
You are so wonderful and I am so honoured to be able to call you my 'sistas'!
Hugs!
Tracy

I've had some complications (infections) so I'm a slow healer. If your over doing it your body lets you know. I had a couple post op appts and I asked the Dr when I get crampy or start spoting they said that I was over doing it. Are you doing either of these? I think everyone heals differently so I don't think your a whimp. Iagree if seems like there were some good days so you would start to do alot then you would have a setback! Listen to your body and rest when needed! I also love this site!

Tracy,
You are NOT a wimp!!! Your body is still healing. My suggestion is to call and speak with your doctor tomorrow. I feel it is better to fault by calling the doctor more often rather than sit at home wondering and in pain. At the 3 week mark, it is common for our bodies to take some steps backwards as stiches are disolving and our bodies are re-adjusting. And notes are never too long. I enjoy reading all of them if they are 1 line or a zillion. (well, maybe not a zillion). I am so proud to be your "sister"!

((((Tracy))) - I know what you mean; I feel like I've been a "Pain Wimp", too. However when I got to my post op appt. yesterday (6 weeks), and saw the actual surgery PHOTOS....well, a picture really IS worth 1,000 words and no dang wonder we are so sore!
Week three was extremely painful for me, too. Hang in there, and let the doctor know whats going on! I hope you feel much better, and soon

(((Tracy))) my sista!!!!
You aren't a wimp at all. We all heal differently. I went the day after you and recovery didn't start off the greatest for me.
I had to get a second script for morphine because the first 30 pills really did not last very long. I didn't end up finishing them and have been off of them for about a week now. I am taking ibuprofen in the morning and at bedtime only now.
I am doing pretty well now but I had a rough time the first 2 weeks. I would just be glad if I could get rid of the bladder spasms!!!

Hi Tracy,
I hope you are starting to feel better - did you call the doctor? When are you going to see him?
You certainly aren't a wimp - perish the thought!
My recovery appears to be a mixture of two steps forward and one back and one forward and two backwards!
Take care and lots of hugs to you!

My gosh! I love you all so very much ... I have no idea who any of you are but you have given me such strength and I feel so blessed.
For that I thank you so very much.
To answer you questions and thanks for asking ... my doc is in surgery today and tomorrow so the nurse told me to go to emerg. I am going to try to wait until Friday. I am giving myself permission to lay around.
Again thanks and great big hugs for all my precious sistas!
Tracy
