salt water swimming, 4-5 weeks post LAVH?

I had an LAVH Nov. 30th and with all this time off am looking at a Caribbean New Year's and 2 weeks of sun and sand. Question is: salt water swimming. I can't get hold of my doc til Monday but the airfare sale ends tonight! Basically, that puts me 4-5 weeks post-op for the swimming - anyone out there know the answer to this?
BTW, I feel good with just some slight discolored discharge and once in a while some mild cramping from the ole bowels.

Heck, two wks in the carribean.....who cares if you can't swim...LOL I would think it would be alright, even if you couldn't wouldn't it still be nice to be warm weather and awesome beaches? I am so jealous. I would love to go there and snorkle. I don' t know the answer, I don't think you will either til you try it. Just as long as you aren't like surfing or something. If you go, enjoy and have fun.

Boy...I don't know....nothing in the vagina for six weeks....that's what my doctor said.....not even baths.....so salt water may be a problem. BUT....the sun and sand sounds glorious even without the salt water!

Thanks ladies! I'm an avid scuba diver and I know I can't do that because of the weight of the tanks, etc. But we'd be sailing in the Belizean Cayes and if I can't get in that water and snorkel, etc, it'd feel terrible - watching my friends while I was boat bound. Dangit! Wish I could get hold of my Doc! Thanks for the replies!

Unless your doctor clears you, don't risk it! Not only were my initial orders "nothing" in the vagina for 6 weeks after my LAVH, I ended up having to wait 12 weeks as I hadn't healed completely!

You only have one chance to heal right the first time!
