TLH-BSO: When can I sit down?

I'm doing well, but sitting on a chair or the couch is very uncomfortable almost two weeks post-op. Also, where can I get a donut cushion? Not worried about it now, but eventually I have to return to work. Thanks and hugs!

I didn't have any problems sitting on the sofa, albeit I wouldn't sit straight up. I didn't feel comfortable in an office or dining room chair for a couple of weeks. I think it was week three/four when that felt more comfortable. You'll probably notice big improvements over the next several weeks, and then you'll soon be like me and won't remember the details of when sitting up as a problem. Best wishes to you!

I can't stand straight yet did anyone else have this problem? Sitting is not so bad.

Try putting a pillow on chair or couch for additional cushioning and height and see if that helps.

I sit on a Boppy and that helps a ton!

Um, what is a Boppy? Sounds slightly naughty, lol.

It is a pillow used for breastfeeding babies. You can get them at Walmart, Target, etc. for around $30.

Turned out to be a symptom of a more serious problem. Just got home from the hospital with new scrips! Very stressful, but I will be ok.

What was the more serious problem? I am 3 1/2 weeks out and sitting still is very uncomfortable if I am on anything but my couch.

Clogged large intestine! Tylenol 3 is very effective for pain, but slows down your gut. I was having regular bm and it only showed up on X-rays. Have new meds to clear it out. Hopefully I can transition to otc meds next week. Going to book a week 4 check-up. Maybe you should get checked out too pc3130!
