Re: They want to cancel my surgery

Yes they can but if you have a plan set up they should work with you. Do you have arrangements made for discounts, payment plans, etc? If not, you'll need to. Find out who wants to cancel (Dr, hospital, other)and what arrangements they need, and you should be able to work it out. Good luck.

Re: They want to cancel my surgery

The billing clerk from my dr office is the one that called me this morning. I am waiting on a phone call back from the hospital billing/finance office. Also waiting on a return phone call from the billing clerk, she was gonna talk to the doc and see what he wanted to do. I'm a nervous wreck impatiently waiting for an answer.

Re: They want to cancel my surgery

One of the things you can do right now is to determine how they can get paid. Often, if you work with them, you can get them to discount their rates if you pay cash.

If you have the ability to take out a loan and pay them up front, there should be no problems. You can also call assistance agencies in your area to see if someone has a program to help you out. If you have a way to pay them, they will not turn you down.

Re: They want to cancel my surgery

They can cancel your surgery if you do not have insurance and have not proven that you have a way to pay. My surgery cost $47,000 and the hospital and doctors want to know that they will be reimbursed.
