TVH Cleared for sex 4 weeks after vaginal hysterectomy

So my dr appt was the 29th and I had exam was told healing very well, not completely yet. When we asked about sex he said we could start slowly and gently but not before the weekend. I will be at 4 weeks on friday and will see Dr again on the 13th to be released for work. I was cleared for most activities at laSt appt and feel really good. I'm a lil nervous bout having sex but want to so I'll know things are working well before I go back to dr. Anyone had ok experiences with sex after 4 weeks?

Not 4 weeks but 5 weeks, and I was told I was completely healed. But I was nervous so I waited until 8 weeks to be sure in my mind I was truly healed. At that point I had no pain or spotting, no idea how it would have been sooner. I'm of the "when in doubt, wait" type, so it was my own idea to wait. Whatever you do, within what your Dr advised, go slow and be prepared to stop if needed. I hope all goes well.

If you don't mind me asking, did you have everything removed??

Yes everything removed. Started estradiol yesterday and I'm 46. You can ask anything lol.

WOW! That's great that your released already & that he feels your healed enough!! :-)

We're still waiting on release for penetration but can "play" outside lol.
I had a TAH/BSO with A&P Repairs and a bladder tack. Maybe that has something to do with it... idk. (& I'm 44)

I'd definitely take it easy, like your doctor said but have fun & let us know how it goes (pain, no pain, that kinda thing lol).

And please let me know how you do on the estradiol (pill ?).I'm on it as well but weighing my options. So stressed reading all the effects without HRT & with ...

Yes I read too much about hrt and it is so conflicting and contradictory. Yes I will let you know how it goes when we do try but I'm gonna be prepared first with lubrication and such because we didn't need it before and I haven't gotten any yet. Hope that's easier to navigate than the hrt lol. Thanks for your input. Happy healing!

Was hopeful for 4 but didn't get clearance till 7. Use alot of lube, Dr suggested vegetable oil.

I'm only 12 days post op and cannot wait for the day the doc clears me! he took it all but my ovaries and said absolutely NOTHING going on downstairs for me until 8 weeks post op Kinda put a damper on this newly engaged 27 year old haha. All in the name of good health!!!
