Too much bleeding?

I know I've seen other posts on pre-surgery bleeding but need some feedback on my dilema.

I am scheduled for a TAH on Dec. 4. Am waiting so it fits into my schedule.

My symptoms haven't really been too bad but have been getting worse the last 3 weeks. I have pelvic pain 3 out of 7 days and a little bit of bleeding every day. I am on BC pills to control my periods until surgery and thought I would only be bleeding during
my "period" time of the pills. Some of the days I'm getting pretty big clots. Last Saturday I wanted to do some shopping but couldn't leave the house because everytime I stood up it gushed.
Then nothing on Sunday (glad I was able to go to church), a little on Monday and Tuesday, then big clots this morning.

I don't think I'm anemic at all. Been eating well and excercising daily. Don't seem to be any more tired than usual.

I am beginning to think I need to move the surgery up, don't really want to. Any thoughts?

Too much bleeding?

I am surprised I am not anemic as much as I bleed. This time aorund I have been bleeding since the begining of July. I would talk to the doc to see if maybe they can just do and d and c to clean you out till your surgery. That always works for me for a few months.

Too much bleeding?

Hi kappycur,

I'm sorry that you are having more problems than you expected to right now. I agree with Jennifer that you should call your doctor, just to be on the safe side. Please don't take any chances.

Please let us know what you find out.

Clots and anaemia

I was really surprised when I found out I had severe anaemia as I didn't think I was especially tired either and always ate fresh healthy food but now that I've had 5 weeks of iron injections I realise how tired I really was beforehand and I just feel so much better now. When you become anaemic it kind of feeds off itself and becomes worse with more bleeding if you know what I mean.

My last bleed included multiple large clots and saw me drop 2 points with my hb going from 8 to 6 (hence the commencement of iron injections and cessation of periods with provera and constant bc pills) so if you have passed clots you have more chance of becoming anaemic. I'd go and have a blood test just to be sure.

regards
Xaviera
