I was told at my pre-op that I would have my blood work the day of surgery. I throught they would do it at pre-op. Did any of you ladies get your blood work the day of surgery?

The only "work" I had the day of the surgery was a pregnancy test. The bloodwork was done at the pre-op. Hhhhmmmmm.... I guess they can do it just as easily the day of, but you'd think they'd have to wait for results.

Hi kmh,

My blood work was done at my pre-op, too. Keep in mind that each doctor's orders can be slightly different, depending on the type of hyst, your over-all health, and his and the hospital's preferences. But, just to put your mind at ease, you might want to give your doctor's office a call and double-check with them.

Also, please go back into your profile and enter your surgery date so that you will appear on Monday's calendar and get a special greeting from Hystersisters.

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Pre-op

Hello Ladies. My first surgery I had, they did blood work a couple of days before hand. My last surgery, they did blood work the morning of. I had to be at the hospital two hours before my surgery so they could take my blood and get the results before hand. I am not sure why they did it that way the second go around, but I am sure there was a reason. Take care.
