Did something really dumb today...
My son and I were goofing around. I had a Reese's peanut butter egg in my pocket, and he was trying to get it from me, and he started chasing me around the kitchen. I ran (not even fast, mind you...luckily the dog was blocking my way) about 3/4 of the way around the kitchen until I stopped and got him to stop. I know I pulled something. Feeling slightly crampy now.
ARGH. I'm so mad at myself. I get to feeling so good I forget I'm still healing!!! I finally stopped bleeding, having no pain, and energy level picking up. I hope I didn't set myself back at all.
My DH yelled at me...he said, "Why don't you just put on your jogging shoes and go out jogging?" This is the same guy who has not been lifting a finger for me. Go figure.

Re: Did something really dumb today...
Well it's easy to forget we had major surgery when we aren't having pain; however, the pain comes back if we overdo it to remind us to knock it off. You could have told your DH, "I have a better idea. How about you put your shoes on and help around here since you haven't been doing much? I'm still healing."
I told mine last weekend that I was going to vacuum. He said, "don't you dare or I'm telling your doctor." I told him that it had to be done so one way or another it was going to happen. Needless to say, he vacuumed. He really has been good through all of this. I don't know what I would have done without him.

Re: Did something really dumb today...
for you highwinds. Hope you are feeling better now. Would you happen to have an extra reeses candy ? I love chocolate!
I'm only a little over a week post op and I still have to remind my kids to help with things. They see me up and dressed and think Mom's feeling better.
Think I should stay in my PJ's more. Luckily for me my energy level is still down so it's been easier for me to stay on the couch that way.
for feeling better

Re: Did something really dumb today...
It is so easy to forget. I had my 2 wk post op on Tuesday and went back to work (basically desk job) on wed 3/4 time with a long commute. I'm very tired when I get home and have been taking a nap.
Dr had told me that I could begin excercising, other than walking, just take it slow and gentle, no lifting. So after my nap yestrerday, I broke out the Wii fit and did some gentle yoga stretches and a few other excercises. Bad move. My slight, normal, watery discharge went bright red. So today I'm home with feet up. Its slowed down but I'm not going to push it. Lesson learned.
