Almost 3 weeks post op

Greetings sistas!
I am approaching my 3 week post TAH... Thought i might give a progress report...
Well, it's significantly slower than i anticipated, but oh well... I did have 2 set backs...
One week post op, I ran out of pain meds and was only taking motrin (which did nothing). Finally, a friend kidnapped me and dragged me to see my surgeon who thoroughly chided me (along with his nurse) for having let the pain get out of hand... So I was sent home with a new script for 5mg hydrocodone... WHAT A RELIEF! Only prob was he prescribed 40 and i was taking 2 every 4 hours, so i started weaning myself off last weekend... I had reached the point where I was taking one every 6-9 hours and feeling ok... not like i wanted to run a marathon but ok...
Then, it happened...One of my beloved feline-friends (actually, my biggest and fattest) decided he wanted to wend his way in between my legs and I tripped over him... I nearly face-planted right on top of him!
I caught myself on a door knob and almost went down on one knee... Shortly after i was feeling nauseated and felt, basically like a donkey had kicked me in the gut... I was able to get into see my dr's partner... She did an internal ultrasound and concluded that I had torn not only external stitch but some internal stitches too... I was I told I'd be fine and sent home with another script for hydrocodone... (I swear the stuff is a miraculous). I am still rather sore (& running out of hyrdos) but doing much better...
i see my "real" doc on friday... I hope by then, I am comfortable just taking the motrin...
And on the hormone side- I went natural and got my shipment this week... Only started taking/using the a couple days ago, so the hot flashes are unbelievable! (& I'm noticing mood swings developing)

**Has anyone else had to take narcotics longer than 2 1/2 weeks? If that standard? I mean i can semi-function for a couple hrs with out them, but then the pain begins again... I do NOT want to get to the point that i'm writhing in pain again but at the same time, I don't want the doc's thinking I'm searching for pain meds (Law down here... if you ask for narcotics- they will not prescribe them to you).

*Will I be alright just taking motrin, or should I press for more hydros? No other NSAID or tylenol work for me...

Thanks, sistas!
