Abdominal numbness after hysterectomy

Do you have any numbness at your belly button area?

I did have numbness but I have an incision above my belly button so I thought that was the reason. I don't feel that any longer, I'm just now starting to feel a bit more normal.

I did too in the early days. I am now 7 weeks post op and much of the numbness is gone.

Also my teenage son had spinal surgery in July and he has a scar from the base of his neck down to the top of his hips. He had the same thing and it extended to about 3 inches either side of his spine. He was quite worried about it. A Dr friend of ours said that since the nerves have been severed, numbness will 'track' the path of those nerves until they repair themselves, which they will in time. Seemed logical to us!

I have a bikini cut and it's healing very well. I still have numbness below my belly button and my doctor says that it will take time for the nerves to heal and there may be an area to May always feel that way, it just depends on the person. Hope this helps! Praying for a speedy recovery for us!

When I had compressed nerves in my arm, my PT told me that nerves heal one inch per month. So if it's a small area it won't take too long to heal.
