Beware Of Catches In Side!!!!!!!

Dear blondenbama,

I'm so sorry...what a scary thing, and you are so fortunate to have known that you were in trouble. Many of my family members are on blood thinners. My mom for 40 years. Please ask your doctor to check your blood every week until your body evens out. Then every 2 weeks, 3 weeks etc. If you see red tongue and gums, easy brusing, vomiting dark, ...etc, now you know the signs of the blood being too thin. Did they give you a diet to be watchful for? Green vegatable, lettuce, stuff that is high in vitamin K will thin the blood more. Everything you eat, over the counter meds and even your exercise can effect your INR. I know your scared and I'm sorry you had this experience.

Clots are number one when it comes to hysterectomys. Thanks for posting and may you heal quickly.

Beware Of Catches In Side!!!!!!!

Thank you frozen yogurt. I am still having episodes with it. I was not quite 2 weeks post op. I hit my 2 week in the hospital. I was wondering though, since you have had one, how long it took you to quit hurting and quit causing you troubles. They told me that I would have mine approx 6 months and I had to go to the ER yesterday again because of shortness of breath and pain again in my side. I am on coumadin 5 mg. I would appreciate your reply.

Beware Of Catches In Side!!!!!!!

I'm so sorry you had to go back to the ER yesterday! You poor thing.

I don't know what the size of mine was and I heard these things can be very different and cause very different symptoms in different people, but I had very severe rib pain and after I got out of the hospital I still had some rib pain (though it was FAR less severe and got better and better over time) for several weeks after. I don't notice any rib pain anymore. I'll be on the blood thinner for a long time too.

I sure hope you start feeling better. And I definitely agree with you that living life is what it's all about now!

Beware Of Catches In Side!!!!!!!

Still having some pain and breathlessness, but I am feeling a little better every day. I am just having to take this one day at a time. The Lord has helped me tremendously. I talk to Him everyday. I sure hope everything goes well with yours frozen. I will pray for you. I just hope this topic reaches out to someone who needs it!

Beware Of Catches In Side!!!!!!!

Thank you for the warnings! I keep forgetting to do the deep breathing excercises. I'm not sure my dr & hospital stressed them enough. Thanks for the reminder & I think I'm stick a post-it or 2 around the house to remind me.
