Bound up and sore above incision

I am exactly 2 weeks post op and I felt better the first week then I do now. Not only am I constipated, but I am really sore above my incision. Are the small knots at the end of the incision common, and should the incision feel like a little rope? I tried to lay off the pain pills for a day or two, and that was a mistake. But, believe it or not, I'm doing ok ,and so glad I finally made the decision to go through with the operation. Someone please respond and give me your thoughts.
Thanks so much,
Pops

Bound up and sore above incision

I can only speak from my own experience but my incision also felt ropey--normal. I also felt worse after 2 weeks at home than I did in the castle. Make sure you are drinking lots of water and and a lot of us have continued to use stool softeners. I am 5 weeks post op and still use them just to be safe but am weening down since I feel so good most of the time. Pain pills can cause constipation so take both. Little walks helps things move along too.
Hope this helps a little

The sore feeling could be down to your constipation....use a laxative to ease yourself.....but whatever you do,
DO NOT BECOME CONSTPATED
again.....it`s the worse feeling in the world, I know, I`ve been there......since my op, I eat more fruit and if I don`t got to the toilet every day then I use a laxative but sometimes only a small dose to keep my bowels moving...also drinking more fluids help, I keep a bottle of water next to the kitchen sink and every time I go out to the kitchen, I have two or three mouthfuls of water, just remember to keep it up.
I also found that I can`t eat as much as I use to, as that hurts my tummy too...that does ease up with time, but I have reduced my intake of food so that I don`t hurt after a meal.

HI! I am 8 weeks post op. My incision sounds much like yours. I have the knots that you are referring to. It is better now, but it still feels very odd. The internal healing takes quite some time. I, too, felt worse my second week than my first. I started taking stool softeners. I took Colase. That is what they are called, and you can get them at Walgreens. YOu can take between 1 - 3 a day. That really helped me. I took 3 a day. I took them for about 6 weeks. Now, I make sure that I am including fiber in my diet. I hope that helps. Take care. It really does get better every single day. Hang in there.
