Waiting and waiting but it's getting closer

Well, I'm officially under 1 month away from my surgery date. Today I got my written confirmation of authorization from the insurance company this morning.

Picked up new pillows this morning while I was out and about - I knack for flattening pillows in a heartbeat so I'm saving my new fluffy ones. They claim to never flatten - we'll see about that LOL.

I also picked up a couple expansion packs for The Sims - a favorite time killing game that I play now and then. I know - I'm a dork LOL

I think I have everything bought that I can think of needing - including some gas-x and miralax. Of course, just like packing for a trip, there is always SOMEHTING that is forgotten.

Have youtried the memory foam pillows? My DH bought me a nice $30 one for christmas a few years back. Totally awesome for lounging about while recovering. Conforms to any shape and pops right back to its original shape when I get off of it. :-)

KM578, I'm right there with you. I'm scheduled for July11th. I think I have just about everything I need too, (hope I haven't forgotten anything). I have even bought me a cute sun dress to wear home from the hospital. This waiting is the hardest part in my opinion. I go next Thursday for my pre-op with my GYN. Then on the 6th of July I go to the hospital for my pre-op with them. I'll just be glad when this all over with. I wish you the best of luck, and pray all goes well and you have a speedy recovery.

I have my pre-op discussion appt with my GYN the afternoon of July 3rd, and my pre-op tests earlier that same morning. I agree - this waiting is for the birds!

I'm just planning on wearing the too big yoga pants and tshirt for the ride home. I live about 5 minutes from the hospital so I can be out of them quickly and back in my nightie to go back to bed

Re: Waiting and waiting but it's getting closer

Right there with you ladies...I'm scheduled for July 6th and at first, the waiting seemed endless. Now, the time is flying quickly! I'm so busy working in the house...even organizing the closets and moving some excess things into the attic. LOL I know it will be here before I know it, I still have one trip to make out of state for this coming weekend..an extra bed to set up for my recovery "helper"..my grown daughter..and lots of grocery shopping to do. I got a super soft comfy tshirt and some of the seamless pants and seamless panties to wear home. Also some hard soled house shoes that will be easy to slip on and off. So ready to have this over, in a major battle with Aunt Flo right now. While she is beating me head to toe, I'm grinning in an evil manner at all the period supplies

Re: Waiting and waiting but it's getting closer

I sure hope this week flies by - I think it will. This week at work we have a state review plus a big fundraising luncheon tossed in the middle of the review for giggles

Next week I'm spending time working with someone who had my position a couple years back and since retired, she will be picking up a few hours a week to keep certain essential things caught up on my desk. So I just need to update her on the new ways certain things happen. I've been trying to put sticky notes on things that folks may need while I'm out to avoid as much of the panicked phone calls as I come across them. Let's cross our fingers that my foresight has been correct

Then the following week...I have two days off - pre-op appt and lab day and the 4th of July. After that week its castle time! Wow....putting it that way really makes it feel a lot sooner than it feels sometimes. YIKES!!!!!
