4 months post total hysterectomy (kept one ovary): Having terrible chin acne / heightened anxiety and emotions

I'm new to posting in the forums (hope I'm doing this right) & thankful for HysterSisters. So, here's my situation. I had a partial hysterectomy on 5/23 done by laparoscopy. Everything was removed except for my right ovary with the hope that it would help my body to readjust/re-regulate my hormones for the better. However, after 3 months post-op I have started having really terrible chin acne, up & down emotions & heightened anxiety (& randomly crying for who know what reason). I am curious if others have experienced similar? I do have a GYN appt. next week to have my hormone levels checked. Any insight or shared experience about similar symptoms would be greatly appreciated!

While I can not attest to any of the same accounts as you, mine have been a bit different. Having your hormone levels checked would be the next step.

I have had mine checked once already but at the time they came out normal. My upcoming appt Friday would be the second time (if they test). For years, I have used an Neutrogena facial soap. I've almost had lack of emotions.

Journal all of your symptoms so you can go over things.
I do hope they figure out what is going on for you.

Hi, I'm 8 weeks post-surgery, total hysterectomy, kept both ovaries and have been going through heightened anxiety and emotions in addition to ringing in ears, severe tension headaches that last 3-7 days and migraines 2-3 times per week. I am now developing cystic acne on my neck of all places in big welts and one on the side of my nose and it is very painful.

You are not alone. Before my surgery I was already taking thyroid hormone and my Dr. increased the dose because my levels of TSH took a nose dive after my surgery.

It was suggested on this board that I explore my hormone levels and may be pre-menopausal or menopausal as even though I kept my ovaries, they may not be producing any or very little hormones. Now I just need to convince my Dr. to run the test. Going back to the OBGYN is out of the question for me (long story - but I am not seeing her again, EVER). So my Dr. just wants to tinker with my thyroid instead....
