Latest on drainage tube

Good evening, sisters. Hope all is well with everyone.

Well, as I posted last week, I had a drainage tube put in. The most frustrating part of it all is how some docs just WON'T LISTEN. I noticed that the tube was not draining, yet there was fluid in the tube. When I called 3 different times all I got was "well, must be done draining." I would then say, "nooo, there is fluid in the tube, which I have to "knead" into the pump." Anyway, the doc who put in the tube has been not help and just wants another CT scan done Monday.

When I went to my wonderful GP today, I showed him and all that needed to be done was the line needed to be flushed since it was clogged. Can you believe it? He kept apologizing to me...I told him there was no need for him to apologize I am just glad he found the problem. He even said to come to his office again on Tuesday so they can flush it again. That is why I love my GP so much.

Okay, that is it. Hopefully this drainage this will stop...and someone can figure out why I continue to have pain in the right side right where my mesh is.

Hugs to you all

Hi Kathy,

I am so sorry you continue to have this problem. This fluid build up has to be related to something with the mesh since you STILL have pain in that area 4 mos. later....maybe the CT doesn't show well behind the mesh or something????...which is where the problem could be??? I can imagine you must be pretty disgusted at this point.

Have you thought about going to a different gyne and letting them check this out? I don't think yours is doing enough..maybe considering seeing a new gyne..you might get finally to the bottom of this.

Your GP sounds great. I really like mine too.

Hang in there ok? I know it's hard, but you will get through it one day at a time. All our struggles in life make us stronger. You have my prayers and are in my thoughts!!!!!

Thanks for all the support again with my DD being dx with lupus, and the offer to answer questions. I may need to ask here and there should things progress for her. It was sweet of you to offer when you have so much on your own plate.

Stay strong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SisterAngel,

The problem isn't with the gyny...it is with the other surgeons. Since the problem is where the mesh is, the gyny sent me to him, which makes sense since he put it in. Then I get passed back and forth from the mesh doctor to the doctor who put in the drainage tube. It has just been so darn frustrating.

My GP and gyny are husband and wife. They are the best. Wish there were more doctors like them.

As far as taking the drainage tube out, I don't want it out until I am comfortable all fluid is gone. Don't want to have to constantly have it drained. Always something.

As always, thanks for all the support.
