Heavy Feeling

I am 9 days out and slept well for the first time last night I am troubled by the "Heavy feeling" between my legs and how uncomfortable it is. I wake up with it at 4am on the dot! I also have it if I sit for too long. Ice and putting my legs up helps a little but nothing else.

Anyone else having this "special" feeling or tips for dealing with it. I have one more week off work and I am scared to death it to have to deal with this then.

Thanks

Re: Heavy Feeling

Part of the heavy feeling is swelling that occurs in the tissues due to them being moved around, cut and whatever else the surgeon did inside of you. It is going to take time to settle down. I didn't have the same surgery you did and my "heavy feeling" was more my lower abdomen rather than between my legs but that feeling continued well into 8 weeks post-op. When I felt like that, I took it as my body's signal to go lie down. I hope this helps.

I purchased a belly binder to help with that... It helps alot... was really a life saver! The extra support helped with driving and also with getting up and around... It wasn't cheap, but worth every penny.. I still use mine.. by the end of the day I am so swollen that I need the extra support!!! I hope you are feeling better soon!!! OH!!! you can get overnight shipping too.. Hystersister store>>>

Hugs n happy recovery!!!
