Reason for Hyster??

I had aches and pains, had elevated CA-125 blood test. After a ct scan showed a mass on ovaries, suspected ovarian cancer. Then two weeks later had TAH/BSO they found endo and chocolate cysts. Still waiting on path labs.

lgolson same here although mine lasted longer than 3 days there were actually months they would only last that long...when I was younger I would have a blood bath for 2 weeks, then when I got older they slacked off a lot which made me think it was getting better but the lining of uterus was 18mm thick, it was growing in there and couldn't get out due to the adeno! Adeno and endo are like some sci fi horror diseases.

Started out just going to the Gyn for polyps that were uncomfortable and bleeding. An ultrasound, CT scan, & multiple blood tests later I had lots of fibroids & cysts. One mass that was about softball size hanging off of one ovary that they couldn't tell what it was and an elevated CA-125. With the family history of cancer, it was decided that a hyster was the best course of action. So here I am 3 months later and even though I am still recovering from the surgery & dealing with all the menopause symptoms, I am already in much better health and feeling better than I have been in years.

Wow- my reasons were.

Heavy heavy bleeding

Passing large clots

Long lasting periods weeks sometimes months

Fibroids

Cyst

Massive cramping

AND THE HUM DINGER!! Surprise stage 2 Endometriosis found during surgery.

I couldn't imagine the pain you must have been in.

Monster fibroids/enlarged uterus--pressing on bladder and growing toward kidneys.

how do you get pregnant in the cervix without a uterus? the inside of the cervix is stitched closed. or did I read those posts wrong?

my hyster was because of simple hyperplasia without atypia with hemorraging.
